IB Results May 2025: A Record-Breaking Year for Diploma & Career-related Students
More than 202,000 students across 157 countries are celebrating this month as the International Baccalaureate (IB) announces the results for its May 2025 examination session. This year marks a new high, with a 4.8% increase in Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) graduates compared to last year.
Reaching this milestone is the culmination of two years of hard work, curiosity, and global-minded learning. IB students don’t just study for exams—they gain skills, resilience, and an international outlook that set them apart in higher education and the world beyond.
With the release of these results, IB graduates join a worldwide community of over 2.7 million lifelong learners. The average score for the DP cohort this year stands at 30.58 points, underscoring the high standards and academic rigor that the IB is known for.

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) continue to expand their global reach and recognition. Offered in more than 3,800 schools worldwide, the DP prepares students for top universities and future leadership by fostering critical thinking, inquiry, and a sense of ethical purpose. Studies confirm that the DP meets or exceeds the standards of leading national education systems across the globe.
Meanwhile, the CP is now available in 427 schools across 58 countries, giving students aged 16–19 a unique opportunity to combine academic studies with real-world, career-focused learning. The CP develops practical skills and a strong sense of direction, preparing graduates for higher studies or a fast start in their chosen professions.

For this year’s May exams, students completed all required coursework and assessments, with final grades based on both examination results and internal evaluations. Every IB graduate can take pride in a journey that builds not just academic knowledge, but character and a drive to make a positive impact.
